The mystery surrounding The Sunken one is revealed! Then, discover what’s behind the laser-locked door and teleport into a massive pit.
Activating the last of the laser tower beacons finally brings me full circle around this section of the island. The green lasers have unlocked a door at the top of a large staircase. But things turn scary very quickly as an enormous cannon aims directly at me. There’s no much room to run as the area is surround by a pit of lava. The lava adds extra complexity to the situation as my body temperature rises and I’m at risk of heat stroke! But it seems as though I’m not the only one arriving in this area at this exact moment.
Some mishaps with my save files may have been a blessing in disguise. Having to re-explore much of the island, I stumble across a secret room hidden under the main walkway. The room has yet another mechanism, but for what? After re-visiting a certain laser tower, I notice a structure in the distance that wasn’t there before. Beyond that wall lies, The Sunken One! Those sounds I heard in the water before now have a source. It’s such a beautiful creature and seemingly harmless. It’s clear from what we’ve seen in previous levels leading up to now, one of these civilizations worshiped fish.
Back at the cannon, I’m given the “point of no return” warning. Once I venture further, I will not return to this area for quite some time. After stocking up on supplies, I teleport into the pit.
