The Solus Project :: Path of Ice

I venture into a frozen underworld where ice creates passages to the Sky Ones. “Come To Us”, they say.

After following the direction to head down the ladder in the Passage of Travelers, the latest update of The Solus Project allows access to the Path of Ice. This seven sections in the Path of Ice may prove to be deadly, that is if I go by the frozen corpses scattered about. Whatever lies at the end of this path must be important as it was behind numerous heavy doors that require mechanisms, the likes of which we haven’t seen since the first smoke monster encounter.

Whoever left us the message to climb down here in the first place isn’t done with the guidance. As I press on through the cave tundra, I’m treated to more signs and frightening, ominous music.

As if the main doors weren’t enough, the area is closed off by steel bars which require a correct combination of pressure plates to be activated. Some sort of puzzle. The creep factor kicks in as the pressure plates are placed around a giant fish centerpiece in the middle of a frozen lake. What does it represent? Was this particular fish worshiped?

This gameplay features footage from the Early Access edition of The Solus Project which had a public release date of February 18, 2016.

The Solus Project was developed by Hourences and Grip Games. Published by Teotl Studios.
