I soon regret exploring off the designated path when a meteor shower strikes the planet.
Time for a breath of fresh air as I finally leave the deadly cave system and return to the surface on the opposite side of the land. The Crossing of Roads I leads me to a new forward vector which instructs me to follow the path down the hill. But when the game wants me to go one direction, I choose to explore and set off in the opposite direction.
At first it seems to be the right decision. I find a pyramid shaped rock with a mechanism calling to be triggered. The hot weather makes me sweat, but also turned out to be the conditions needed to brew a tornado. Whilst searching for water, the Wilson device announces a climate anomaly detected. Indeed, a tornado has spawned and there’s no shelter in sight.
You’d think that’d make me want to continue to the forward vector to inspect the second escape pod crash site. But I can’t help but wonder what I might’ve left before the tornado struck. As night falls upon the planet, so do the meteors.
